I had been experiencing and learning new things about cicadas for many years, but the summer of 2023 had by far topped it all. I had found spots for three species that I had known to exist in NJ, but never knew where to look. I had also found a hotspot for a species that I had never known would exist in decent numbers in NJ. And above all of it, I was able to meet a fellow cicada enthusiast right along the way! Last year was just one of those years I will always look back on!
